Logging Your First Workout
A step-by-step guide to tracking your first workout in Iridium and building healthy habits.
Welcome to Iridium! This guide will walk you through logging your very first workout. Whether you're new to fitness tracking or switching from another app, you'll be up and running in no time.
Starting with just 3-4 exercises helps build the habit of tracking without feeling overwhelmed.
Getting to the Workout Screen
From the main screen, tap the Workout tab in the bottom navigation. This is your home base for all things training.
You'll see options to:
- Start a new workout
- View your workout history
- Access your saved routines
Starting a New Workout
Tap the large Start Workout button to begin. You can either:
- Start from scratch - Build your workout as you go
- Use a template - Choose from your saved routines
- Follow a recommendation - Let Iridium suggest exercises based on your goals
For your first workout, we recommend starting from scratch to get familiar with the interface.
Adding Exercises
Once you've started your workout, tap the + Add Exercise button. You can find exercises by:
- Searching - Type the exercise name
- Browsing categories - Filter by muscle group or equipment
- Recent exercises - Quickly add exercises you've done before
Iridium has a database of over 800 exercises with proper form descriptions and muscle targeting information.
Logging Your Sets
After selecting an exercise, you'll see the set logging interface:
- Enter the weight used
- Enter the reps completed
- Tap Log Set or swipe right to save
The app will remember your previous weights to make logging faster next time.
Finishing Your Workout
When you're done, tap Finish Workout in the top right. You'll see a summary including:
- Total volume lifted
- Workout duration
- Personal records (if any!)
- Muscle groups trained
Take a moment to add notes about how the workout felt. This helps you track recovery and progress over time.
